An Indian teenager’s addiction to mobile gaming cost his father Rs 4.8 lakh rupees loss after the boy was cheated with offers of attractive online games.

According to the police officials, a man is working for a private firm, His 15-year-old son is addicted to an online game called free fire which his multiplayer online mobile game like BGMI or PUBG……A suspect identified as Lakshmi Bai contacted his son online and lured him to play more paid online games.

In July, she asked him to download some paid games and sent him a link for the payment. The teen, who often used his father’s phone and a bank account linked to the number, shared the One Time Password (OTP) received on the phone with Lakshmi Bai.

The move led to Rs 4.8 lakh being siphoned off from two bank accounts of the man at the Axis bank and Karnataka bank — between July 7 and 30 July, the police officials said….. The Whitefield Cyber Police Station reported this case last week …..

To prevent these cases Additional district judge, Naresh Kumar Laka had written a letter to Indian Prime minister Honorable Narendra Modi… seeking a ban on Free Fire and BGMI. The judge had written that the games can harm the development of children.

Last year Government of India banned PUBG Mobile due to security concerns. Later the game relaunches with a rebranded version named Battlegrounds Mobile India.

Judge Laka stated that in China, rules have been passed limiting children’s (under the age of 18) access to video games to 90 minutes per day and only until 10 p.m., with the possibility of an extension to 180 minutes during holidays. As a result, India must take precautions to ensure that its youngsters are not misled. This step, according to Judge Laka, is necessary for the children’s ‘rightful growth.’
